Tower Construction Tools
As a tower climber, the tools you use are extremely important. A few things to look for when looking at tools are useability, quality, and some category specific things depending on your needs. Our vast selection of telecom tools will ensure that you have the right gear to stay safe and productive while on the job. Our telecom tools include alignment tools, at-height tools, cable products, data communication tools, meters, rope reels & spindles, and wire pulling grips.
Alignment Tools
Proper antenna alignment on a tower is an extremely important task. In the past it has been quite difficult to achieve accuracy, but all that changed with the introduction of antenna alignment tools. Antenna alignment tools save you time and money while on the job site by providing real-time accurate reading for azimuth, tilt, and roll. We also offer a range of different accessories to make sure that you can tackle any antenna alignment project that comes your way. With tools from top-of-the-line manufacturers like MultiWave, 3Z, and Sunsight you’ll have the accuracy you need the first time, every time. GME Supply has your back with financing options on these devices too.
At-Height Tools
As a tower climber working at-height, many times you will need to use tools that weren’t exactly made to be used at height. Tools aren’t always light and sometimes they can be clunky and easy to drop. A dropped tool can be extremely dangerous to you and to anyone on the ground below you. That’s why we offer a full selection of tool tethers (also known as tool lanyards).
Tool tethers are essentially small versions of shock absorbing lanyards that connect to your tools and prevent them from falling to the ground if you drop them. We have a wide variety of tool tethers compatible with most variations of tools. The tethers are available in a range of lengths, colors, and attachment options. We also have kits that provide everything you need to get your tools ready for the next job.
Some tools are being made with the ability to have them tethered off, but some still aren’t and chances are that most of the older tools you have don’t have any kind of connection point. We’ve got you covered there too. Our selection of at-height tools includes tapes, traps, collars, and shrinks that will help you make your tools tether compatible.
Cable Products
Running cable is an important part of any tower climbers job description. Let GME Supply be your complete resource for your cable product needs. From adapters and termination resistors to hangars and grommets we’ve got everything you need to keep you productive and safe while on the job.
Data Communication
With fiber in full swing and 5G just around the corner data communication is taking over. As a tower climber data communication is extremely important when installing and maintaining equipment. And, with the amount of data being transferred, carriers are constantly focusing on quality installation. With our selection of data communication tools, we’ve got everything you need to get the job done right.
Meters
Accurate measurements are an important part of working on towers. Whether you need measurements of force, wind, gas, or distance - the tools you use can be the difference between getting it right the first time and setting yourself back hours worth of work. Our full selection of Anemometers, Distance Meters, and Dynamometers will have you measuring accurately in no time.
Anemometers: An anemometer is a device that is used for measuring the speed of the wind, or of any current of gas. When it comes to rigging - knowing how fast the wind is blowing is an important part of the process. Not to mention, climbing 200 feet up a tower with high wind speeds can cause a whole slew of issues. Our selection of anemometers will have you measuring wind and gas in no time. But, it doesn’t stop at speed. If you need to know the maximum wind gust, air, water, & snow temperatures, wind chill, relative humidity, heat stress index, or dew point - these devices have got you covered.
Distance Meters: A distance meter is primarily used for accurately determining the distance of an object without contact by using a laser. This can be extremely useful in lifting & rigging and alignment applications. A few things to look for when choosing your distance meter include: level of accuracy, magnification features, range, internal calculation abilities, and compatibilities with other devices like computers, phones, and antenna aligners.
Dynamometers: Dynamometers are extremely versatile pieces of equipment. From lifting and rigging applications to tensioning guy wires, a dynamometer can rise to the task. Our selection of dynamometers includes both analog and digital versions available in a range of strengths and sizes.
Rope Reels and Spindles
There is no doubt that as a tower climber you will be using a lot of rope. Nothing is more annoying than having to spend time getting knots out of your rope. That’s where rope reels and spindles come in. Our selection of rope reels and spindles will help you keep your rope rolled and knot free.
Wire Pulling Grips
Wire pulling grips (also called cable pulling grips, or pork chops) are a must-have for any tower climber that is going to be working with guy wires. When choosing your cable grip, a few things to look for are construction (what type of metal is the grip made of), cable size minimums and maximums, jaw length, weight, and maximum safe load. When tensioning cables it is a key part of safety to ensure that the grip you are using can handle the requirements of the job.
