Pac-Kit First Aid dates back to the 1800's under the company name of Burroughs Wellcome Company, a medical manufacturing and supply operation. They saw the need to have portable kits that would hold medications and dressings, similar to a doctor's bag. These kits have been a part of history. In 1871, they were on hand in Africa when Stanley was searching for Livingstone. Also, in 1909 when Admiral Peary discovered the North Pole. In 1911 it was President Roosevelt's choice kit  that accompanied him when he explored the ebony waters of the Amazon. Pac-Kit was trademarked in 1922 by Acme United Corporation (Burroughs Wellcome Company), making it the oldest brand name of unitized first aid products.
